Equal Rights - Be Careful What You Wish For

October 2019

Women born in the 1950s/60s lost their court battle against the Government's handling of the rise in women's state pension age:

State pension anger: 50s women devastated after 'abomination' retirement age change, Express, 11th October 2019

The State retirement age used to be 65 for men and 60 for women.

Women then pushed for "equal rights" and pushed up the retirement age to the same as men, rather than having the retirement age for men pulled down to 60 - which would have been the correct decision of a progressive society.

Now, another group of women are moaning that the retirement age was pushed up to 65!!

You couldn't make it up.

PS. UKGov's long term goal is to make the retirement age 65, 67, 70, 72, 75, ... It's called work till you drop dead. All the time they still keep extracting NI contributions from people that will not live long enough to claim their entitlement back. Instead of State Pension it should be renamed State Theft.
