Clap the NHS

Clap the NHS

The NHS has been a sham ever since its conception. It is a Utopian dream that everyone can have top rate health care whenever they need it irrespective of the costs in terms of financial and human resources. Here's a few examples of the "great" NHS ...

Liverpool Care Pathway

The Liverpool Care Pathway was basically a mechanism devised to murder off the elderly as they have always been perceived by many in government and the health care sector as nothing more than a massive drain on the system:

Liverpool Care Pathway: 'They told my family I was dying', BBC News, 15th of August 2013.

It was pitched as a way of allowing a person to gently drift off, but the reality was is that it was used as a way of effectively murdering the elderly. Here's how it worked - and I'm not making this up but from what I read of an actual nurse eye witness account. A glass of water would be placed on the bedside cabinet, but just out of reach of the patient. Then, after 45 minutes/1hour the glass would be removed, and if any questions asked the reply would be "Oh - we assumed they didn't want any water because they haven't touched it.". This would be periodically done and logged that attempts were made to keep the person hydrated. After 2 to 3 days the person would be either dead or acting crazy and then be medicated.

Here's something else you may have noticed. The hospital wards where elderly patients are kept can be as hot as hell. It could be argued that the entire hospital is the same boiling temperature. This is not the case since you can move from the Psychiatric ward to a ward housing the elderly and the increase in temperature is noticeable. It could then be argued that the elderly feel the cold more and therefore need it warmer - again, I disagree. It is well-known that under hot conditions the body is working a lot harder to regulate body temperature and at the same time dehydrates faster.

COVID-19 Response

I have written extensively about the NHS response to COVID-19, and it was an utter sham. The following key issues stood out:

  • Cancelling of post-mortems, which resulted in all sorts of falsifying of data.

  • Family and friends prevented from seeing dying loved ones in hospitals and care homes. In care homes, in some cases for more than a year.

  • The transferring of infected elderly patients from hospitals into care homes, knowing all too well that they would infect everyone else in the care homes.

  • Effectively getting elderly patients to sign a non-resuscitation form in both hospital wards and care homes so they would not have to treat them and basically let them die. Many elderly didn't know what they were signing.

  • Cancelling of millions of operations and preventative consultations and treatments.

  • Cancelling of dental treatment.

  • ... the list is truly endless and indicative of the sham that is the NHS and the muppets in Whitehall.

Hundreds of Babies Left Dead or Permanently Brain Damaged

The latest NHS cover up is the failings of Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust for the worst maternity scandal in the history of the NHS:

Major report into maternity scandal at NHS trust where hundreds of babies died or left brain damaged to be revealed, Sky News, 30th of March 2022.

What will be the outcome of the investigation? ... "lessons have been learned"?

And don't think those failings are unique to Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust. The same is going on nationally. Take for example the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust:

Repeated maternity failings at one of England’s largest hospital trusts, ITV News, 5th of April 2022.

Even after being warned a year earlier in March 2021 they failed to make the required improvements. An investigation found that the service did not have enough midwifery staff with the “right qualifications, skills, training and experience to keep women safe from avoidable harm and to provide the right care and treatment”.

The NHS is truly shocking.

1,500+ Mental Health Associated Deaths in Essex

In the 20 years between 2000 and 2020 more than 1,500 people (that they know about) died unnecessarily in Essex when being treated for mental health relate illnesses:

Inquiry investigates deaths of 1,500 NHS mental health patients in Essex, Guardian, 28th of March 2022

Thousands of cases in which NHS staff simply couldn't care less.

A long track record of abuse of patients and being fined and still they didn't change their ways:

NHS mental health trust fined £1.5m over care failures that led to 11 deaths, Guardian, 16th of June 2021.

Don't Take My Word For It

I'm not alone in viewing the NHS as a national disgrace and not fit for purpose. In 2022, the public perception of the NHS was the worst had ever been, and that's just 2 years after the weekly clapping:

Public satisfaction with NHS drops to 25-year low, BBC News, 30th of March 2022.

And you can rely on the BBC to have the token Black in the the above article image. They are so full of it.

The NHS's Abysmal Record Treating Cancer

UKGov's own metric for cancer treatment is that no more 15% of people should wait more than 2 month until the start of treatment. Only 2 out of 107 health care areas met this target:

Key target for waiting times on cancer treatment missed in 98% of NHS England areas in January, Sky News, 5th of April 2022.

Imagine you have just been diagnosed with cancer and told you'll have to wait at least 2 months for treatment to commence! And then wait much longer and in most cases months and months. What a shocking service this is

But Don't Forget ...

But don't forget to stand on your doorstep each and every Thursday at 8pm and clap the NHS.
